This is the story of my riding trip to Nainital, Uttarakhand, India |
Ghaziabad (4:15 AM)
- This years good rains has made me to cancel several rides but this month has given me the hope of less rains and more rides
- Finally i decided to go to some nearby place after a friend insisted to join
- I rarely choose to go to busy travel destinations, but this time i thought about going to Nainital
- As always started early at 4:15 AM on NH 24 towards Muradabad, and later taken Tanda and Bazpur road
- Soon after riding for around 4 hours with some minor pee stops, we arrived at Corbett village (Choti Haldwani)
- Taken left turn from here and started climbing towards Nainital
- Around 9 AM we decided to breakfast. Stopped at a road side small restaurant and spent around 30 minutes
Saria Tal (9:00 AM)
- We stopped for few minutes at Saria Tal (lake) and taken left turn towards government polytechnic school
Snow View Point (10:30 AM)
- We reached snow view point, which is also our stay for tonight. This is one of the highest point of Nainital
- Snow view point has a government tourist rest house; which is actually the old governor house
- We checked-in for the day and decided to visit the town after getting refreshed
- Snow view point is actually a scenic spot featuring panoramic views of snow-capped Himalayan peaks
- A powerful binoculars is installed there to view the peaks, which are rarely visible in summers
- This spot also has some kids fun related activities like toy train, bumper cars and swings etc
- Snow view point is also famous for rope way, our government run guest house provided us free passes for it
- Using the rope way it took only 5 minutes to reach the main Naini Tal (lake)
Naini Lake (12:30 PM)
- Visited the famous Naina devi temple, which is the key reason for the name of this lake
- We strolled on the mall road for around 1 hour and spent some time sitting at the bank of lake
- After spending few hours, we decided to buy some beer and enjoy at our rooms
- This is 9:00 AM in morning and we ordered the most famous breakfast of riders: Parathas
- After filling our tummies to the neck, we started again on our journey towards home
- We arrived at Khurpa Tal (Lake) within 1 hour of our start, halted for few minutes for picture shots
